Acclaimed Wines, Regional Vines

Among the numerous advantages of its location, Sea Ranch Lodge is close to many noted wine producers. As Sean Ranch Lodge is one fo the most innovative hotels near Bodega Bay, our restaurant’s award-winning wine selections focus on California offerings from the acclaimed region of Sonoma and Mendocino - west of Highway 101 and north of the Russian River. We are one of the few Sonoma Cooast restaurants that augment local selections with wines from the greater Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Featured appellations include Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast and Rockpile. These appellations are known for exceptional Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel. Also notable are Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petite Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and some Cabernet Sauvignon.

For our guests' tasting and enjoyment, we are pleased to offer smaller growers, producers and wines many available only from the wineries.

Fort Ross Vineyard

Nestled on a sunny coastal ridge overlooking the Pacific, the Fort Ross “True Sonoma Coast” vineyard is one of the closest to the ocean in California. Its high elevation above the coastal fog and ocean proximity provide a sunny and temperate climate, very favorable for Burgundian varietals. Proprietors Lester and Linda Schwartz produce exemplary coastal Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinotage.

Hirsch Vineyards

David Hirsch founded Hirsch Vineyards on the extreme Sonoma Coast to grow fruit and make site-specific wine. His Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reflect the harmonious resolution of opposites meeting in Nature and Life: the continent’s edge washed by the sea; the eternal grinding of plates along the San Andreas Fault; wet winters and dry summers; dripping rainforest and parched pastures.

Peay Vineyards

Peay Vineyards is a first-generation family winery. Husband and wife Nick Peay and Vanessa Wong grow and make the wine; brother Andy Peay and wife Ami sell the wine and run the business. All grapes are grown on the 53-acre vineyard above a river gorge about four miles from The Sea Ranch. “Winery of the Year,” Wine & Spirits, 2009

Wild Hog Vineyard

Wild Hog Vineyard is a small family-owned and operated winery and vineyard in the hills near the Sonoma Coast. Owners Daniel and Marion Schoenfeld have been making wine since 1977 and opened the winery in 1990. They are traditional farmers, dedicated to farming and gardening without chemical additives, insecticides or herbicides. The vineyard has been certified organic since 1981.
